Chairperson - BOD
As Chairperson of the Youth and Women Advocacy Network (YAWAN), I am proud to lead an organization that plays a critical role in promoting peace, inclusion, and empowerment in South Sudan.
YAWAN's work reflects our shared vision of harmonious communities, where women and youth are recognized as central to building lasting peace and sustainable development.
From conflict-affected areas to remote villages, we create safe spaces where voices are heard and potential is realized. I believe that by investing in women and youth, we are laying the foundation for a peaceful and prosperous society. I invite all partners and stakeholders to join us as we continue walking with communities toward hope, healing, and dignity.
Executive Director
At YAWAN, we are committed to empowering youth and women to lead peaceful and productive lives. Our work focuses on promoting healing, inclusion, and sustainable development in communities affected by conflict. Through our thematic areas such as trauma awareness, psychosocial support, peacebuilding, livelihoods, and education in emergencies, we strive to address both the immediate and long-term needs of vulnerable populations.
We have implemented impactful projects in counties like Guit, Akoka, Malakal, and Nasir. These include a grinding mill to support women’s economic empowerment, youth-led peace dialogues, and ongoing preparations for mobile trauma healing centers and solar-powered boreholes that promote both recovery and resilience. As we expand our reach, we remain grounded in community-driven solutions and guided by the belief that transformation begins from within.
Secretary General - BOD
As Secretary-General, I have witnessed YAWAN's consistent commitment to empowering communities through inclusive and sustainable approaches. Whether we are addressing trauma, supporting education in emergencies, or promoting peacebuilding, our focus remains firmly on uplifting those most affected by conflict and poverty.
Transparency and strong partnerships are central to our work. At YAWAN, we believe that true transformation happens when communities are engaged, informed, and equipped to lead their change. I am honored to support this mission and remain dedicated to ensuring our efforts continue to inspire impact and accountability.
